Tuesday Evening

Well, today was as busy as yesterday. They injected the Retavase first thing this morning. They let it work for 8 hours and began suction this afternoon. There was not as much fluid as we thought we would see. The PA who administered this medication will be in tomorrow. We are curious to see what the plan is from here.

J was up sitting up in a chair for most of the day. He had his lunch and dinner sitting up. His meals are now regular food. His appetite is much less than normal, but we are thrilled that he is tolerating solid food. J is also doing well speaking. Today his trach was down-sized to one with a smaller tube. This is one step closer to getting rid of the trach.

There has not been much talk of discharge to Fayetteville. We think that the fluid pockets on his lung are very likely the thing that is keeping us in Tulsa. We will let you know more tomorrow after we talk to the PA.

Love,

Cara

Good news again! Well it isn't surprising to me that his appetite isn't quite normal. Get the boy a strip-cheese sandwich and see if he can plow thru it. Hospital food isn't real food. :). Seriously it is good to hear that J is progressing nicely. As always, in our thoughts and prayers.

Great news once again! I've seen JH3 eat and I'm guessing he requested
a lot more than what came on the hospital tray:)
Keep stepping bro, and we'll see you in Fayetteville soon.

Yay! What tremendous progress ALL of you have made. I know you are so happy to see your husband sitting and talking again. I'm sure a visit from his kids provided a huge dose of happiness for both of you. I'm so happy all of you are on the home stretch. As always, you will continue to be in my prayers.

We keep being struck by the scriptures that you have chosen. They have become, every morning when we open the blog, almost like a mantra. They sustain us as well. We are so pleased that things going well and we look forward to your getting home soon.
