Wednesday, September 3rd

Good Morning! I start back to work today. It should feel very different to spend my day behind a desk instead of in a hospital room!

Yesterday there were some new theories about the pain in J's left leg. Th most encouraging is that the pain is due to nerve damage that is healing. The other, almost as encouraging theory is that J is having some periformis pain. His sciatic nerve is being pinched by muscles in his buttocks. His doctor has ordered a test for nerve damage, so we should know fairly soon what we are dealing with. In the meantime, they will continue therapy and treat the periformis pain with ultra sound.

Thank you for the continued support!

Love,

Cara

FROM STEPHANIE CAINS WHO IS DEPLOYED TO AFGHANISTAN

he pain will go away with time, but it will take a long time. They
should have him on a better pain management program. He should be at a
stage where he can function but be on pain meds that are still pretty
strong. At least he is home. I sent them a card; I hope they got it in
the mail. If you get to talk to them, tell them we are still praying for
them.

I'm glad you guys are having some of your normalcy return, and hope the mystery is taken out of the pain soon, so you know what you're dealing with.

You guys have continued to be in my thoughts and I just wanted to let you know.

Love, Carey

Great to hear the good news. We are all still thinking of him and keeping him in our daily prayers. Isn't it amazing when you think about the power or prayer. Cara, I'm glad you got back to work. You need that. If there is anything else you need, just let us at the 96th know. Take care and God Bless You.
